Using various teaching strategies based on the latest research in brain-based learning, PCA strives to meet the needs of every learner. In planning lessons, goals, and objectives, teachers utilize multiple resources including textbooks, technology, hands-on experiences and the source of all truth, the Bible. PCA provides a rigorous academic program exceeding state standards while incorporating Christian values at every grade level.

Voluntary Prekindergarten or VPK gives children a jump start by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language and social skills. VPK classrooms offer high-quality programs that include high literacy standards, developmentally appropriate curricula, manageable class sizes, and qualified teachers. Our VPK teachers hold Florida Professional Teaching Certificates with over 20 years of Pre- K and Kindergarten Teaching experience. Our VPK program follows a Christ centered curriculum developed with high academic standards and a lots of creative fun!

If you live in Florida and have a child who turns 4 years of age by September 1, your child is eligible for Florida’s FREE VPK program. A child must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2017, to register for the full school year program for the 2017-2018 program year.

The school-year program includes 540 hours of instructional time and begins in August. Our VPK program follows Clay County Schools calendar year with some exceptions. Pinewood’s VPK program is a half-day, Monday through Friday.

Extended Care

Children on campus are required to be under adult supervision (within eyesight), therefore, students found on campus unsupervised will be signed into extended care. All regularly enrolled students of PCA may use this program on an occasional or regular basis. Extended Care is located in the Whited Discipleship building room #1.

Extended Care is available on an as needed basis, 6:30am-7:55am and 11:45am – 6pm during regular school days.

Annual enrollment fee of $45.00 for the first child and $15.00 for each additional child per year or $25.00 per child per semester.
Morning Care (6:30 - 8:00 a.m.)$6.50 per hour with 1 hour minimum
After School Care$6.50 per hour
Late Fees$1 per minute after 6:00 p.m.
